engineer for a major Hong Kong electronics manufacturer developing automated test equipment (ATE) for mass production.
I was part of the team that developed the first 900 MHz cordless phone that soon became a whole new consumer electronics
industry. I travelled to China many times to set up test systems in our factory. One of my responsibilities was to document the
test systems for unskilled workers at the factory. This forced me to develop a style of writing that makes technical subjects
easy for the layperson to understand.
British Columbia and Vancouver Island. I earned my private pilot's license at the age of 18 (my first bank loan was for an
airplane). I have been an Amateur Radio operator since 1982. I currently hold the Canadian call sign VE7EPN and the
maritime mobile call sign VE0HZ (Hotel Zulu). I hike, scuba dive, cycle and sail throughout western Canada.
